Get around the Lady Griffs who’ve made it into the ACT/NSW Women’s AFL Academy!
After a tough couple of weeks of testing and some stiff competition on game-day down at Reid Oval, 3 ANU girls have been picked from over 300 hopefuls to be part of the inaugural GWS Giants Women’s Talent Academy. Congratulations to Kat Dellar, Nadia “Nads” Thorman and Claire Reynolds who will spend the year training with the best and most promising Women’s players from the ACT/NSW region. They will receive elite coaching, services and facilities with an eye on being picked for the 2016 Female Football Exhibition Series which will see the girls from ACT/NSW play matches in the GWS Giants and Sydney Swans colours against other state academies. These academies aim to build talent and depth in order to prepare for the National Women’s Draft which will kick off next year – so the girls are sure to be put through their paces! We wish them the best of luck in the academies.
